Our Math Program Adds Up to More

09/22/25

At Seven Arrows, we are especially proud of our math program. It is not just about numbers on a page. It is about building strong thinkers who are appropriately challenged, supported, and inspired to love learning.

A Strong Foundation
Our youngest students begin with Singapore Math, a world renowned approach that develops deep conceptual understanding through hands on strategies and visual models. By sixth grade, they transition into Illustrative Math, an inquiry based curriculum that fosters collaboration, persistence, and the ability to solve complex, real world problems.

Appropriate Challenge for Every Child
Through small group learning, every child is met exactly where they are. Students who are accelerated can pursue an advanced path that keeps them engaged and motivated, while those who need more time receive the focused support to build confidence and mastery. “Seven Arrows is one of only two schools we researched in Los Angeles with the capability to differentiate math instruction to accommodate advanced learners,” noted one parent. This balance ensures that all students are pushed appropriately, and that every child experiences success.

Engagement Through Tools and Context
Teachers bring math to life with manipulatives, IXL, ALEKS, and real world applications that make learning both rigorous and engaging. Math becomes a subject students genuinely look forward to — one that feels relevant to their daily lives and futures.

Connected to Technology and STEAM
Math at Seven Arrows extends into technology and STEAM. With one to one devices (iPads in grades K through 3, laptops in grades 4 through 6), students develop digital fluency alongside strong math foundations. By fifth grade, they are introduced to AI through SchoolAI, and sixth graders strengthen their media literacy. In STEAM, math powers design thinking as students prototype, test, and refine solutions to human, animal, and environmental needs in our Makerspace.

Beyond Numbers: Building Thinkers
From kindergarten through sixth grade, students discover that math is not about racing to answers. It is about exploring possibilities, learning persistence, and developing confidence. With strong foundations, personalized challenge, and integration across disciplines, Seven Arrows mathematicians grow into creative problem solvers who are ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
