ROOTS & WINGS JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN (JK) is an intentionally small STEAM-based program that prepares students exceptionally well for Sr. Kindergarten at Seven Arrows. While this program matriculates directly into Sr. Kindergarten at Seven Arrows, there are also several spaces reserved for new families joining the Sr. Kindergarten class from outside DK, JK, TK programs.

Roots & Wings was founded to nurture imaginative thinking through a blend of science, visual arts, and nature-based exploration. Grounded in the belief that early childhood is a critical foundation for life, the program emphasizes outdoor learning as a powerful way to support sensory development and foster a deep connection to the world.

Through a multicultural, hands-on curriculum, children build self-esteem, empathy, and independence while discovering what makes them unique.

- School Tours (mandatory)
  - School tours take place on select Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 – 11:00 AM.
- Optional Admissions Events (highly recommended!)
  - October 11: Open House & Family Science Day
  - November 19: Parent & Student Panel
  - December 3: Curriculum & Coffee

OCTOBER – FEBRUARY: Parent Conversations (mandatory)

OCTOBER 1: Sibling Application Deadline

The Roots and Wings JK has been an amazing program for my younger son. The curriculum is a blend of the arts, community, outdoor education, environmental activism and an introduction to math, critical thinking, as well as language arts. They’ve woven in specialties like fine art and PE, which the kids eat up; their minds exploding with all this newfound information. This program has something for every student…the athlete, the artist, the builder, the nature child, and everything above and in between.
